Happy New  Year!!! 3 months late, but it was last year that we posted the last update.  Over the past few months we have been to many doctors’ appointments, and continue to get good reports on little Zoe.  Well, not so little anymore, now 14 pounds and 7 ounces, and over 25 inches long.  He is nearly 7 months old, and doing awesome.  His liver is completely healed, his blood count is completely normal, he sees out of both eyes, per his last visit to the eye doctor when they did a vision test.  His retinas are completely flat against the back of his eyes, and his eyes are no longer filled with blood.  The heart doctor performed an EKG and a sonogram on his heart last week, and it all came back good.  He no longer has the G-tube (removed in November ‘08), and he is eating baby cereal, veggies, and about to experience fruit for the first time tonight!  He takes all his bottles and is a pacie junkie!   The neursurgeon performed another CT scan, and though it is visible that there has been insult to the brain, there are no lingering concerns for the future.  The neurologist evaluated Zoe’s activity and motor skills and he also sees no current delays in Zoe’s developement, nor any concerns for the future.  Today the developemental therapist visited us at the house and her report was the same.  Zoe babbles, goos, laughs (he is very ticklish, just like his big brother and his daddy), and he loves to be around his bubba and sissy while they play.  He cut his first tooth this week, and the second one is not far behind.  I (Carmen) hope to become much more computer savvy in the near future so as not to rely on Jim to have to post new pics and videos.  I do however know how to plug the computer in and turn it on!  Baby steps, I know, but you gotta start somewhere!  We’ll try to have some posted soon, I know many people are wondering how big he’s getting, etc.  Thank you again for your prayers in faith.  Happy March to all!

What a wonderful report! Thank you God! It excited me so to finally see an update on Zoe. I would try to check it each day for the updates and this morning while, I was listening to the song Healer, it reminded me I’d not checked on Zoe today. I’m glad I was reminded to open up your blog.

May God keep on blessing each of you. Our prayers are still with each of you.

I am so excited to see a new update. My baby girl and Zoe were at Memorial at the same time. She was almost 3 months early and went home after a 3 month stay. She will be 8 months old on the 16th and like Zoe is just getting into veggies and fruit and loves to eat.

I am so excited and thankful to hear that he is doing so well and that God continues to bless your family:)

    Hi,
I just want to say hello, and how much I always love to see you and Jim and KK and (it was so wonderful to see her dance before the Lord the last time y’all were here), and I know that Issac has his 7th. birthday coming up–we have it marked on the our calendar here at home when he was born. You and Jim are such good parents to Zoe and to all your kids. It’s such a blessing to see the hand of the Lord on you, and your friends, Haley and her husband, who grew up and met in our church. Today we had truly an awesome God-filled service, led by your Dad, and we worshipped Jesus in the Spirit for a long time. Wish y’all could have been here. I left your Mom cleaning up–the last one there after a shower (house-warming) for Ama this afternoon. You know how your Mom is. We all love each one of you.

    Love, Ms. Joanie (and Walt)

I’m still praying for Zoe, and also for KK’s eye infection…that it has gotten lots better, maybe even cleared up! Hope everyone else is well. I woke up the other morning having a dream about you having to get up with someone, and I thought..I’ll get up with Carmen, so I did. Been praying for you to get enough rest with all you have to do. Your Dad preached a great sermon today w/o any notes..it was like God was speaking into his ear what to say and it was coming out of his mouth. Tonight was wonderful too. We are so blessed to have he and your Mom.
Give my love to Jim, and a hug to Issac, and KK and Zoe. Love, Ms. Joanie

I am so relieved to hear this. I was on youtube and this story popped up and i seen how old it was. I went searching to find out how he was doing and finally i found your update. I was so thankful that you still have your beautiful boy. I am a mother of two myself and i understand your faith in never giving up. You are a hero to never give up on your son. I will pray for his continuing health and growth.
