9:35 AM Sunday Day 48

By babysimpson

Happy Sunday to you, hope your weekend is going well.  We are continuing to be excited at Zoe’s progress.  Before I begin, let me say that the story on Zoe in the local newspaper is scheduled to come out next Sunday, October 5th.  Sorry for the confusion, but please look for it next weekend.  We have learned how to feed Zoe using his G-tube and it is quite simple.  For those of you who have worked with one before, you know what I’m talking about.  When we lived in B’ham, Isaac had a little friend who had one so I had been just a little familiar with the idea of it.  (Thank you, Danielle for being my example!) :)   Anyway, before the surgery, Zoe was taking apx. 40 cc’s and today he is back up to 35 cc’s.  If that is tolerated well, he will be up to 40 tomorrow, then by Wednesday they expect us to “room in” with him over night.  Then we would be looking at heading home Thursday.  That is the plan for now, we will let you know if it changes.  Jim mentioned Zoe pulled out his oxygen tube, he must have just wanted to show us all how strong he really is.  He has been free of the tube since sometime early Friday.  It looks like at this point, all he may need to go home on is a heart monitor.  Previously, we were under the understanding that he would go home on 3 different machines, so the news of just one machine is exciting.  Please continue to pray for his liver, it is enlarged and needs to decrease in size.  It is decreasing, but very slowly.  It is believed that the liver problem is connected to the blood count (red blood cells, platelets, etc) problem, so we need it all to be better.  Zoe has come so far from where he was and we are so pumped about that…grateful beyond words.  We continue to pray and believe for his FULL recovery, that he will tell for himself one day of the power of God that has sustained his life.

We continue to be thankful for the provisions of the Ronald McDonald House, where we  have been staying now for 7 weeks (tomorrow).  If it were not for this establishment, we would most likely be living out of our car right now, seeing as how staying in a  hotel for 7 weeks would get quite pricey.  For those of you who are able and willing, please check out info about the house.  Many have asked what they can do to help us, and it would mean alot to us if people could help out the house.  There are simple things like collecting pop tabs and bringing them by to drop of so they can be recycled, or donating food for the families here.  If you can, take a look and see how you can help.

Thank you for taking time to check up on Zoe, and most of all, thank you for the prayers offered in faith.  May you and your families have a wonderful, beautiful Sunday.

    My Dear Jim and Carmen,
We are so rejoicing with you! Everyday is better that the day before and for that we just praise the Lord. He is so good! John was waiting up for me when I got in tonight, awaiting to check up on little Zoe. He wanted to know what to pray for Zoe and to tell Isaac and Kate Kate hello. JuliAna had fallen asleep but we send hellos from her as well. It is good to hear that things continue to improve and I know the excitement for what is expected in the days to come is great. We continue to pray for Zoe’s healing. I trust God, in His perfect timing, will complete what He has began. We pray believing!
Much love and blessings to you and yours.

I heard Baby Zoe’s story as I was listening to the radio this morning! It really blessed me and I wanted to rejoice with you and add my prayers to yours for his complete recovery! My prayer is this: Nothing missing, nothing broken, complete and total restoration in every area of his body, and that includes little Zoe’s blood cells! I thank you Jesus that you are the same today, yesterday and forever, you change not, therefore we can stand on your word with confidence! It is in the authority of your name I pray, Jesus!
I was given a revalation this August as I was standing for my son’s healing of ITP, which can be a fatal disease of the platelets, in which the blood has trouble clotting, it is usually brought on by an infection! Thankfully my son case wasn’t severe but it was still distressing! As I was praying I heard this in my spirit, “My blood paid the price so his can be whole”, it was than that I realized that AJ didn’t need to suffer with this any longer and that nothing was to hard for My Lord! In no time, my son platelet count went up to normal, the bruising and the nose bleeds both stopped! And God Gets the Glory!
Be encouraged and Blessed with much love from my family to yours!

I know you guys will be so glad to be in your home and especially to bring Zoe. I do pray the transition will go well and that ya’ll will get the rest you need.
Your family from Hazlehurst will be by your side. When someone says, “What can we do?”, don’t be hesitant to say. I remember an occasion when people did that for me. Surprisingly, I was able to tell them what I needed without feeling awkward. It is amazing what people will do when you present something to them. I still find myself thinking sometimes about what others have done for me and it brings a smile to my face to experience love demonstrated. So, definitely and I know you will, allow others to experience the joy of helping you guys. It’s good for all of us.

    My dear Jim and Carmen,
I thought I’d write and just let you know that a friend of mine that lives in Virginia just called to tell me he heard the radio story about Zoe . I believe it was KLOVE… a christian station. He and his wife have been praying for him and he was excited and amazed at the national coverage of this miracle that God has performed.
And as I am writing this I hear John and JuliAna in the next room with Abbie and Emily from down the street having a prayer meeting. They made a player on one of the Xbox games with Zoe’s name and when they turned it on to play, John said, “Zoe is coming home this week. We need to pray for him”. They all grabbed hands and took turns praying for his healing and safe arrival home to the neighborhood. They are praying for you, Jim and Carmen, by name and Isaac and Kate Kate too. My heart was both touched and encouraged. This is not unusual as they have been praying since day one, but to initiate the prayer amongst themselves is awesome. This is just one of the things God has used to grow our children in the Lord and in their prayer lives. Thanks again for sharing your struggles and faith, for allowing us the opportunity to pray for and with you. God has truly blessed many. The kids have been making cards and pictures for you and Zoe and can’t wait to give them to you. We are praying for Zoe’s liver to function as it should. The kids don’t quite understand all that but they are praying for it also. We continue to pray believing. Can’t wait for you guys to get home…Much love and blessings to you and yours.

I heard your story this evening on KLOVE! What an awesome miracle God is doing! I love hearing stories like these and will continue to keep little Zoe in my thoughts and prayers.

Question… Do you guys have a banner that we could put on our sites/blogs that say Pray for Zoe?

    Blessings,
