How do we begin? Praising God is definitely in our hearts, but is there an action or words enough to actually fully express ourselves? We received wonderful news from the brain surgeon this morning. He said our option is clear, that Zoe does not need any procedure or surgery done. The fluid has reduced in the back of Zoe’s head, which caused the pressure on the top of his head to reduce, which caused his head plates to come back together and his soft spot is soft. So…things are how they should be! This is the same doctor who sat face to face with us 2 weeks ago and had to bring us the sad news that there was nothing he could do to help our child. He said that 2 weeks ago considering Zoe’s poor condition including low plateletts and fraility. Today Zoe’s platelette count is higher than last time they checked (on his own, without having to receive a transfusion). The reason for the doctor to tell us he would not do surgery this time, after reviewing the CT scan from yesterday is because there is no significant pressure or fluid to be relieved in Zoe’s head (like there was 2 weeks ago). We are so incredibly excited about this, and we thank God that our son’s body is recovering so greatly from where he was just weeks ago. Praise God for His healing power. Also, we are thankful for the doctor’s wisdom and care in having Zoe’s best interest at heart. He is not being discharged yet, as there are still a few minor things that need to happen before he can go home with us. Please pray specifically that his body adjusts well to coming off of oxygen. He has been off of the respirator for nearly 2 weeks now (Monday will be 2 weeks) but he has an oxygen tube in his nose that administers something like a humidifier fluid. They are gradually reducing it, and as he gets comfortable they reduce it more. He is doing well with the process, but it is a slow one. Also, it is not necessary that he suck a bottle because they can leave the feeding tube in, but they are trying him on a bottle tonight (Jim and I will be there to give it to him) and if he does good, he will not need a feeding tube. Day by day we are seeing improvements, and we give God all the honor for WHO He is and what He is doing here in Zoe and in our family. Thank you for your faithful prayers and encouragement. Many people leaving comments are ones we have not seen or talked to in a while and it is wonderful to hear from you. Those from Marysville and KC, yes I (Carmen) remember you. Those who we were in youth group in B’ham with, good to hear from you as well. Florida family, we love you and appreciate your comments. Birmingham family, I know Papa and Nanee or Grandma and Grandpa must keep you updated when we don’t, we love you.
And of course Hazlehurstians, we feel the love from you through visits, prayers, and gifts as well. For those of you that we have not met and hope to one day, thank you for your prayers and thoughtfulness as well. We will keep you all posted as we have opportunity to. Hope everyone has a great weekend, and coastal buddies try to keep dry.

My dear Jim and Carmen,
How I rejoice in the news of God’s continuous healing of Zoe’s body.We do serve an amazing God! So many have been faithful in prayer. God says if we humble ourselves and pray, He will hear us and answer. And answer He has and will continue to do.
So many spiritual truths are stored in my heart through songs. So tonight I share this song…. Pray On
“The army of Judah was paralyzed by fear
When they heard a mighty multitude was quickly drawing near
But as they prayed for deliverance the victory would begin
For when we called upon the Lord
We summon all of Heaven
When Daniel faced the lions for worshiping the Lord
It seemed there was no hope at all for what would be in store
But when we stand on holy ground
Our smallest prayer is heard
Instead of on our circumstance
Our eyes are on the Lord
Pray on, for you are who the Lord is looking for
Pray on, for this will tear those mighty strongholds down
Stay on your knees, for this is where the battle is won
There’s no better place for you to be
Than seeking the Father prayerfully
Very soon you’ll see the victory, Pray on.”
We have made our requests and prayed down so many strongholds. God has shown His mercy in so many ways already. We pause to praise Him and lift Him up, for He is worthy of all our praise. Blessed be the Rock on which we stand! The victory has only begun. God is not finished with this work He began in Zoe’s body. I give Him all the praise for who He is and what He has done, but also will praise Him for what He continues to do. He is more than able and I believe faith moves God and God moves mountains. So we continue to pray. We pray believing!
Rejoicing and praying every step of this road with you.

I think I held my breath while reading this update! I stand in amazement at the awesomeness of our Lord. I can barely hold back tears while typing this to you. Praise to our Mighty God.
Recently I was on a mission trip with some of the youth at my church. Things started off pretty rocky for us, and I remember one of the kids saying that she was sure our God had great things planned for us we just had to endure the obstacles. I just keep thinking that about your family and Zoe. I know God has AMAZING things planned for your lives and this is just the start…..
I will contine to pray for Zoe’s healing.
Blessings,
Jennifer

To God be the glory! Oh, what wonderful news you have shared with us! We will stay in prayer with you in the days to come. We know you want to bring Zoe home with you. As a mother I know it must be so hard to sit and wait, however, you have not been just sitting by and not doing any thing. You have been before Abba Father, as so many more have as well. We are overjoyed to see such strength you and your family has shown.
Thank you, Jehovah Rapha, for hearing our prayers!

I am ecstatic with this most recent news. GOD IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you all. I know that this has been your most difficult battle, but in the end you are triumphant. God has truly entrust precious Zoe into some of the best hands possible. I rejoice with you guys and really cannot adequately decribe with mere words the joy and elation I feel!!
Personally, I cannot recall anything that I have prayed so hard for. I know that sounds odd, but it is true. Zoe completely consumed my thoughts and prayers for the past several weeks. I know that I am not alone in that sentiment either. I know that we all hear of mighty miracles happening in a far away land or here and there. But, this is a miracle that we have witnessed right here, right now. As the old adage goes… God is still in the healing business!”
This has been the first time in a while I could bring myself to listen to Healer when I entered the site. However, this time I intently watched and listened. As I saw the various pictures display Zoe’s bleak condition and to KNOW that God has HEALED him, I just rejoiced uncontrollable. I know others have said before, but it bears repeating… I am thankful for y’all be open and sharing what is typically a very private matter. I am thankful for the strengthened faith I have through all this. I love and appreciate you guys more than you will probably ever realize!!!
Love,
Jennifer

Praise God!!!! We are so happy to hear the great news. “God Bless baby Zoe” is what Dennis has been saying around here. Everyday I give him an update on Zoe’s health, and we can see such a difference through the pics as well. Dennis had to come home with the oxygen and feeding tube when he was in the hosp for those 31 days as a newborn. So can Zoe if need be. There are great med resources to help you guys transitsion through all that. However, we are still praying for a total healing. God is good, and this we all know. Take care guys we miss you, and as always you are and will remain in hearts. Also Dennis again requested I make sure to let you know he is praying for Issac, and misses him.
Take care
Love always

6:30 am
We were gone all weekend to a wedding. Praise our Lord and Healer!!!
Moses interceded for his people in the wilderness.
“For how then can it be known that I have found favor in Thy sight, I and Thy people? It is not by Thy going with us, so that we, I and T hy people, may be distinguished from all the other people who are upon the face of the earth?’
The story of Zoe and your faith and the faith of His people will be known on the face of the earth.
Have a wonderful day with your family.
